Photo Retouching and Editing

Photo editing completely transforms a photo and can determine whether a client truly loves the final result. My editing gravitates toward a natural approach, enhancing natural beauty. Below are "Afters and Befores" of photos I have edited.

When I graduated from Emerson College, I really wanted a photo of myself in a luxurious movie theater with my cap on. The only nearby theater had stained grayish-green seats, and I was disappointed with how the photos turned out. I transformed the image by changing the chairs to a deep red, editing my shirt sleeves so they didn’t stick up awkwardly, and enhancing the overall highlights, saturation, and contrast of the image.

My client brought me a photo taken by another photographer. She was unhappy with the visible bra strap and felt the image washed her out. Using masking, healing, and the clone stamp tool, I removed the strap and refined her skin texture. Through careful color correction, I restored warmth to her complexion in a way that still felt true to her natural skin tone.
